Sonoma County Community Profiles
Sonoma County communities vary as much as the terrain.
Small towns like Bodega Bay (made famous in Alfred Hitchcock's 1962 film "The Birds"), Jenner and Gualala line the rugged coast, while farther inland, Guerneville and Forestville are nestled among the redwoods along the Russian River.
Cloverdale sits in the North County wine country, and Sebastopol embraces its funky, artistic West County lifestyle. Farther to the east is Sonoma Valley, which novelist Jack London christened "the Valley of the Moon."
On the Highway 101 corridor is Petaluma, with its historic downtown, and burgeoning tech center, and the growing communities of Windsor, Rohnert Park and Cotati.
And smack in the middle is Santa Rosa, the county's largest city.
